HL Deb 12 May 1926 vol 64 c191

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, on behalf of my noble friend Lord Des-borough I beg to move the Second Reading of this Bill. It is purely a formal measure and its object is to remove all doubt as to the validity of marriages which have been solemnized in the Church of St. Mary Childwiek Green, in the parish of St. Michael at St. Albans. The Bill is meant to make valid all marriages solemnized in that church. I beg to move that the Bill be row road a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Lucan.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed for Tuesday next.

House adjourned at five minutes past four o'clock.
