An Act to increase and extend the powers of the court to inflict punishment in the case of certain crimes.

THE EARL OF HALSBURY moved to leave out "punishment" and to insert "penal servitude in lieu of imprisonment." The noble Earl said: This Amendment follows from the last Amendment made.
