HL Deb 08 December 1926 vol 65 cc1390-2

Minor Amendments.

Enactment to be amended. Amendment.
The Land Settlement (Facilities) Act, 1910

LORD CLINTON moved, in the reference to Section 16 of the Land Settlement (Facilities) Act, 1919, to insert:—

"Section 16. In subsection (2) for the words 'fifty pounds' there shall be substituted the words one hundred pounds.'"

The noble Lord said: It would save the House some time if the noble Lord would accept this as a consequential Amendment.

Amendment moved—

Page 15, line 36, insert:—

("Section 16. In subsection (2) for the words 'fifty pounds' there shall be substituted the words one hundred pounds.'")—(Lord Clinton.)

LORD BLEDISLOE

I think this was an oversight in drafting. It is obviously consequential.

First Schedule, as amended, agreed to.

Remaining Schedule agreed to.

EARL BEAUCHAMP

My Lords, may I ask the Lord President on which day he proposes to take the Report Stage and Third Reading? I notice that for Friday, which would obviously be the day, there are already eight Bills down, and I suggest that we should take the Report stage on Monday. If the noble Earl is good enough to agree to that I should offer no objection to his taking the Third Reading also on the same day. Thus no time would be lost to the Government and the Bill could go to another place for approval. I hope that will be for the general convenience of the House.

THE EARL OF BALFOUR

I think that course will be quite convenient.
