THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, I beg to move that the Commons Amendment be now considered.

Moved, That the Commons Amendment be now considered.—(The Earl of Lucan.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, the Commons agreed to the Amendments which your Lordships put into this Bill and have made a small Amendment which is really only correcting our grammar. The wording of one of the paragraphs really made nonsense, and the Commons have now amended our Amendment in Clause 1 of the Bill by leaving out the words "within seven days after written application from such authority" and inserting the words "to give such written authority within seven days after written application therefor." The wording of the paragraph began:

"Where the proprietor of any lands … refused or has failed" but there was no verb to follow "failed." Therefore the Commons have left out "within seven days after written application from such authority" and have inserted the words I have mentioned. I beg to move that the Commons Amendment be agreed to.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment—(The Earl of Lucan.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
