HL Deb 06 August 1925 vol 62 c794
THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY)

My Lords, in moving the adjournment of the House perhaps your Lordships might wish me to inform you that I suggest that we should meet, as we have been meeting during the last few days, at 3 o'clock to-morrow. There may be a little formal business to be finally transacted in order to bring these sittings to a close. At half-past three the Royal Commission will take place. I shall also move the Motion, which stands in my name enabling the Lord Chancellor to call the House together if need be at a date earlier than that to which we formally adjourn. This has become almost a formality now, for it is done every year.

Moved, That the House do now adjourn.—(The Marquess of Salisbury.)

EARL BEAUCHAMP

As the noble Marquess realises, generally we meet on Friday at twelve o'clock. Perhaps he will explain why we have to meet in the afternoon to-morrow?

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

We have to wait until the Appropriation Bill is through another place for it to be dealt with here and included in the Bills that receive the Royal Assent.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.

House adjourned at twenty minutes before five o'clock.
