HL Deb 26 March 1924 vol 56 cc1093-4

House in Committee (according to Order) Bill reported without amendment

EARL BEAUCHAMP

Will the noble Earl tell us when he proposes to take the Third Reading? He put down the Committee stage almost immediately after Second Reading. That is somewhat unusual in this House. We have no objection in this case as it is purely a formal measure, but I hope he will give us due notice of when he proposes to take the Third Reading. It would not be a bad thing if the noble Earl were to wait a few days before putting the Bill down for a Third Reading.

EARL DE LA WARR

My Lords, I feel that I must apologise to your Lordships for being in such a hurry. It was entirely due to my inexperience, and I hope your Lordships will accept my apology. There is no particular hurry for this Bill, and I will willingly wait a few days. Perhaps next Tuesday would suit your Lordships.
