Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Message from the Commons.

LORD MUIR MACKENZIE

My Lords, I beg to move, That this House do concur in the following Resolution communicated by the Commons, namely : "That it is expedient that a Select Committee of the Commons be appointed to join with a Committee of the Lords to consider the desirability of altering the customary period of the Parliamentary Session and the incidental changes necessary thereto." From communications that I have been able to make with different quarters of the House, I have no doubt that this Motion will be agreed to without further remarks from me.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.

A Message ordered to be sent to the Commons to acquaint them therewith.
