HL Deb 05 March 1924 vol 56 c576
LORD PARMOOR

My Lords, I am told that there is a Consolidated Fund Bill which it is desired to pass through all its stages to-morrow. It passed through the other House this afternoon. I believe I am in order in giving Notice of Motion to suspend the Standing Orders to-morrow in order that the Bill may go through all its stages in your Lordships' House. I am told that, so far as the Royal Assent is concerned, this has not at the moment been provided for, but that is a matter which I need not discuss now. I see my noble friend the Marquess Curzon of Kedleston opposite, and I believe he will agree with me that in the case of a Consolidated Fund Bill it is not unusual to suspend the Standing Orders, as it is not a matter which we can discuss in detail.
