HL Deb 24 July 1924 vol 58 c955

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, the noble and learned Lord, Lord Buckmaster, who is in charge of this Bill, is not able to be present this afternoon. The noble and learned Lord asked me to move the Third Beading on his behalf, and I understood, and so did he, that there were no further Amendments. Since then it has been intimated to me from the usual source that there are drafting Amendments which are essential. They are purely drafting, but without them the Bill, I am told, would make rather nonsense, and lead to very difficult litigation. Accordingly I propose to put down the Third Beading for Tuesday next.

Third Reading put off accordingly till Tuesday next.
