HL Deb 14 November 1923 vol 55 cc5-6
LORD STRACHIE

My Lords, may I ask the Government what business they intend to take to-morrow?

LORD SOMERLEYTON

My Lords, in the absence of the noble Marquess the Leader of the House, may I say that in accordance with the statement made by the noble Marquess yesterday the following Notice will appear in the Orders of the Day for to-morrow:

"In the event of the Workmen's Compensation (No. 2) Bill being received from the Commons, the Marquess Curzon of Kedleston will move that Standing Order No. XXXIX be considered in order to its being dispensed with for the purpose of taking this Bill through all its stages."

I ought also to inform your Lordships that it is proposed, if your Lordships approve, that the House should meet at half-past two o'clock to-morrow in order to give ample time for the discussion of the Bill. I trust that this will be in accordance with your Lordships' desires.
