Limits of Solway District.

So much of the estuary known as the Solway Firth as lies to the east of a line drawn from the most projecting point of land south-east of Whitehill between Portling Bay and Porto warren Bay to the northern boundary of the parish and town-ship of Seaton, in the county of Cumberland, including the foreshore and all rivers, creeks, and streams, and water as far as the tide flows and reflows, except so much of the Rivers Ellen, Waver, Wampool, Eden, Esk, Sark, Annan, Lochar, and Nith, and their estuaries, as lies above the following lines, namely:— As respects the River Nith, a line drawn from the eastern extremity of the southern bank of New Abbey Pow to Scar Point, in Dumfriesshire.
