HL Deb 08 May 1923 vol 54 c46
EARL BEAUCHAMP

My Lords, may I be allowed to ask the noble Marquess what arrangements he is able to announce to your Lordships' House with regard to the adjournment for Whitsuntide?

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I am much obliged to the noble Earl for asking the Question. The Government thought that probably your Lordships would wish to adjourn for the same period as that which has been settled for the House of Commons. That would be to adjourn on May 17 until May 29. Of course, if it appeared that we could get a little longer holiday, no one would be better pleased than myself, but I think I ought not to go further than that at the present moment.

House adjourned at twenty-five minutes past six o'clock.
