THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, the first Amendment introduced two additional names into the list of the Oxford Commissioners. One is that of Miss Penrose, principal of Somerville College, who is to represent the women, and the other that of Mr. Cruttwell, Dean of Hertford College, who is to represent the younger members of the teaching staff. These two names were added because of representations which were made that the interests they represent were not, perhaps, sufficiently represented on the Commission. I do not think that any Amendment of substance has been made in another place, and perhaps your Lordships will permit me to move them all together. I beg to move, therefore, that the Commons Amendments be agreed to.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
