My Lords, I beg to make the Motion standing in my name. It is necessary because agreement has been reached in another place to refer the Bill to a Joint Committee of both Houses.

Moved, That a Committee of six Lords be appointed to join with a Committee of the House of Commons to consider the said Bill; that the Lords following be named of the Committee—

That such Committee have power to agree with the Committee of the House of Commons in the appointment of a Chairman.—(Lord Askwith.)

On Question, Motion agreed to. Then a message was ordered to be sent to the House of Commons to acquaint them therewith, and to request them to appoint six Members of that House to be joined with the said Committee.

House adjourned at ten minutes past six o'clock.
