HL Deb 27 July 1922 vol 51 c891

[The references are to Bill No. 123.]

Clause 1, page 2, line 12, leave out ("condition") and insert ("conditions").

Clause 6, page 4, line 32, after ("competent") insert ("and independent").

Clause 9, page 7, line 21, after ("Act") insert ("or any re-enactment thereof").

LORD SOMERLEYTON

My Lords, in moving that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments, may I say that they are all purely verbal alterations? After what has taken place it would be as well for me to prove that this is the case. The first Amendment is in Clause 1, page 2, line 12, and it is to leave out "condition" and insert "conditions": the second is in Clause 6, page 4, line 32 after the word "competent" to insert "and independent"; and the last Amendment is in Clause 9, page 7, line 21, after "Act" to insert "or any re-enactment thereof." Your Lordships will see that they are purely verbal.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Somerleyton.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
