My Lords, I beg leave to introduce a Bill to amend the law relating to smoke nuisances, and for other purposes connected therewith, and to move that it be read a first time.

Would it be possible for my noble friend to arrange to take, the Second Reading of the Bill at an early date? I suggest that, if possible, it should be taken on Monday next.

If it be convenient to your Lordships the Government will be quite agreeable to take the Second Reading on Monday next, as the noble Lord wishes.
