HL Deb 11 July 1922 vol 51 c327

Order of the Day read for the House to be put into Committee on recommitment of the Bill.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT BIRKENHEAD)

My Lords, the Joint Select Committee which has examined this Bill has rendered to me and the House considerable service by the care which they have given in the matter, and they have offered some suggestions to me which I very gratefully accept. They have also conveyed to me that they would be good enough to undertake the further duty, if the Bill be recommitted, of importing into it the result of many of their suggestions and the proposed alterations. I am glad of this opportunity of placing on record my sense of the value of the services rendered by the Joint Select Committee. I beg to move that to-day's Order be discharged.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.
