HL Deb 12 December 1922 vol 52 cc372-4
LORD SOMERLEYTON

My Lords, I have to ask your Lordships' approval of eight Draft Special Orders under the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, and I will, if I may, say a word upon each. In the case of the first there were objections, but they have been withdrawn. Objections were made to the second, that of the Bridlington Gas Company, but these objections also have been withdrawn and the Order is now unopposed. There was no opposition to the next Order. In the case of the fourth, that of the Chesham and District Gas Company, there are no objections; and in the case of the Harrow and Stanmore Gas Company the objections have all been withdrawn. The application of the Kingston-upon-Thames Gas Company was unopposed; objections to the application of the Long Eaton Gas Company have been withdrawn; and the last application, that of the Sutton Gas Company, was not opposed. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Draft Special Order proposed to be made by the Board of Trade under Section 10 of the Gas Regulation Act, 1920, on the application of the Lea Bridge District Gas Company, which was presented on the 4th December, and published, be approved.—(Lord Somerleyton.)
