LORD RAGLANMy Lords, I beg to ask His Majesty's Government whether they can furnish a Return of imports, exclusive of military stores, into Palestine during the year 1921, showing the principal countries of origin, and whether the corresponding figures for the year 1913 are available.
§ LORD STANMOREMy Lords, I have obtained the Return asked for by the noble Lord for the year 1921. In view of the changed political conditions, it is not possible to give exactly corresponding figures for 1913. I have, however, obtained the figures of imports through the port of Jaffa, which, though not comparable as regards the volume of trade, are at any rate comparable as regards the relative proportions as between the various countries. As 208 the tables are somewhat long and complicated, I think the House would find it tedious if I were to read them, but I will see that they are printed in the OFFICIAL REPORT, and I shall be glad to give a copy now to the noble Lord who has asked the Question.
