HL Deb 11 April 1922 vol 50 c209
LORD RAGLAN

My Lords, I beg to ask His Majesty's Government what salaries or other emoluments are now being paid to King Feisal and the Emir Abdullah.

LORD STANMORE

My Lords, the Civil List provided for King Feisal in the Tray Budget amounts to twelve lakhs of rupees, rather less titan £80,000 per annum. This sum covers the expenses of the Court at Baghdad, the King's personal staff and the maintenance of the royal palace, and is a charge on Iraq Revenues. The Emir Abdullah receives no fixed civil list, but the revenues of Trans-Jordania, which are assisted by an Imperial grant-in-aid, furnish monthly payments averaging not more than £1,500 for his personal expenses.
