HL Deb 05 May 1921 vol 45 c256

LORD WEARDALE had a Question on the Paper ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been called to the urgent necessity of action within three months of the 5th September, the date of the next meeting of the Council of the League of Nations, and the subsequent election of the Judges of that body; and whether the Government is prepared to ratify the project for the Permanent Court of International Justice as formulated by the Advisory Committee of Jurists.

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (THE EARL OF CRAWFORD)

My Lords, Lord Weardale asked Lord more to put this Question on his behalf, but I have just intimated to the noble and learned Lord that Lord Curzon has been called away to meet a Foreign Minister who has to leave London to-night, and he asked that the Question should be postponed until Tuesday.
