HL Deb 14 June 1921 vol 45 c526

LORD SOUTHWARK had given Notice to ask the Lord Chancellor whether he, does not consider that the time has now arrived when it. is advisable that the Commercial Law should be codified and whether he is prepared to take steps to arrange for the codification separately of various branches of Commercial Law; and whether he would make a commencement. with the law of Mercantile Contracts, and have it codified by the incorporation in one Act of all the existing Statutes and the decided cases bearing on the question. The noble Lord said: At the request of the noble and learned Lord on the Woolsack I beg to postpone this Question until Wednesday, June 22.
