HL Deb 28 July 1921 vol 43 cc84-5
LORD BUCKMASTER

My Lords, a Motion has just been handed in by the Marquess of Crewe for Tuesday next which I am sure the Government will regard as one of great importance; and it is preluded by a Motion that precedence should be granted to it. On Tuesday the House will not be sitting for Judicial business and it will be quite possible for your Lordships to begin business at a quarter to four that day. I would like, therefore, to ask the noble Earl whether, when moving the adjournment of the House to-day, he will consent to move that the House do adjourn until 3.45 p.m. on Tuesday.

THE EARL OF CRAWFORD

I do not quite understand the question of precedence to which the noble and learned Lord refers.

LORD BUCKMASTER

It is simply this. There is a Motion down in the name of the Marquess of Crewe, and coupled with that there is a Motion that it should have precedence over the Corn Production Acts (Repeal) Bill. That is a matter for the House to determine, and I suggest that we should meet, therefore, at 3.45 on Tuesday.

THE EARL OF CRAWFORD

We agree.
