HL Deb 10 August 1921 vol 43 c448

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE EARL OF ANCASTER

My Lords, I can only say in a few words that the object of this Bill is to enable Boards of Conservators and river authorities to increase the licence duties. It is impossible at the present moment to look after and protect the rivers unless such a Bill as this is passed. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Ancaster.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House.

House adjourned at twenty minutes before nine o'clock.
