§ LORD HARRIS had the following Question on the Paper—
§ To ask His Majesty's Government whether it is the case that Territorial officers in India are being paid for their war bonus and war gratuity 10 rupees to the£ whilst the men for their war bonus are being paid at the rate of 16 rupees to the £; and, if so, what is the justification for this difference.
§ The noble Lord said: My Lords, I understand that the noble Lord below me (Lord Sinha) would prefer that I should not put this Question at present, because it is under discussion with the Government of India, and he may be able to give me an answer later on. I therefore will not put the Question to-night.
