HL Deb 15 December 1919 vol 38 c1
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I desire to ask the noble Earl the Leader of the House when it is proposed to take the Committee stage of the Government of India Bill?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (EARL CURZON OF KEDLESTON)

My Lords, we desire to take the Committee stage of the Bill as soon as possible, because of its great importance. It is down for to-morrow evening. It is the third Order on the Paper. I do not as yet know at what hour your Lordships will reach its consideration, but I earnestly hope that we shall be able to proceed with it then.
