VISCOUNT SANDHURST

My Lords, I have two small Amendments to Clause 2. The first is, after "expression," to insert "which is at least one-third greater than the provision represented by". The other is at page 2, after "meaning" ["construed as meaning"], to insert "which exceeds the provision represented by unemployment benefit at the rate payable after the commencement of this Act by an amount which is not less than one-third of the provision represented by." I beg to move that they be agreed to.

Amendments moved—

Clause 2, page 1, line 17, after ("expression") insert ("which is at least one-third greater than the provision represented by")

Clause 2, page 2, page 2, line 1, after ("meaning") insert ("which exceeds the provision represented by unemployment benefit at the rate payable after the commencement of this Act by an amount which is not less than one-third of the provision represented by").—(Viscount Sandhurst.)

On Question, Amendments agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
