VISCOUNT PEEL

My Lords, the object of this Bill is to provide, in the first place, for an increase in the pay of the members of the Royal Irish Constabulary and of the Dublin Metropolitan Police Force; in the second place, for a new scale of pensions to widows of members of those forces; and, thirdly, for an increase in the amount of pension that can be granted to widows These provisions follow the general lines of improvement in the pay and pensions with regard to the Police forces of this country. I beg to move.
