HL Deb 05 November 1918 vol 31 c991
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I should like to ask my noble friend Lord Newton whether he has any information to give the House relative to the ratification of the Prisoners Agreement with Germany.

THE ASSISTANT UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (LORD NEWTON)

My Lords, I am sure that the House will learn with great satisfaction that we received a message from Germany yesterday, to the effect that the Germans have abandoned their preposterous claims with regard to German civilians in China, and are prepared to ratify the Agreement.
