HL Deb 21 March 1918 vol 29 c558

House in Committee (according to Order): Bill reported without amendment.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (THE EARL OF DERBY)

I would ask your Lordships to allow me to pass this Bill through its remaining stages now. It is a Bill brought in at the request of the House, and there has been no Amendment of any sort or kind. I want to get it speedily through your Lordships' House, because there are a great many gentlemen who would be invaluable as Deputy Lieutenants who are barred until the Bill passes.

Moved (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended), That the Bill be now read 3a.—(The Earl of Derby.)

On Question, Bill read 3a and passed, and sent to the Commons.
