HL Deb 31 July 1918 vol 31 c245

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Viscount Peel.)

LORD WILLOUGHBY DE BROKE

I should like to ask the noble Viscount, in connection with this, whether he could give me any information as to what has happened to the Midwives Bill which was passed in this House and I believe sent down to the other House. In talking of one Bill it is not permissible to ask questions as to another, but if the noble Viscount will extend to me his invariable courtesy by giving me this information I should be grateful.

VISCOUNT PEEL

I am afraid I cannot give any very definite information as to the viability of the Midwives Bill in another place. I understand it has not passed the First Reading.

LORD WILLOUGHBY DE BROKE

Perhaps the noble Viscount will be better informed about that in the course of the next few days, and I could then put a question to him.

On Question, Bill read 3a with the Amendment and passed.
