Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (THE EARL OF CRAWFORD)

This Bill extends to Ireland the system of the registration of midwives which already exists in this country and in Scotland. The Bill has been very carefully considered. I believe it is now an agreed measure, and I commend it to your Lordships' favourable attention. I beg to move it be read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Crawford.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to a Committee of the Whole House to-morrow.
