HL Deb 21 November 1917 vol 26 c1104

The Committee recommend that Mr. C. L. Anstruther's employment as Chief Clerk be extended for a period of six months after his attaining the age of 65, the Committee being satisfied that there are special circumstances which render a relaxation of the rule as to compulsory retirement expedient in this case.

And the Committee considered that one of the vacancies in the Parliament Office might be filled, on Mr. Anstruther's ultimate retirement, if the Clerk of the Parliaments could find some suitable candidate who had been serving in His Majesty's Forces but who was no longer able to serve, and instructed the Clerk of the Parliaments accordingly.

THE ACTING CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF KINTORE)

My Lords, I move that this Report be considered and agreed to.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.
