Clauses 1 to 5 agreed to.

Clause 6:

Payment by Thomas Ernest Martin to Nita Martin of£1,000.

6. That the said Thomas Ernest Martin shall pay to the said Nita Martin the sum of One thousand pounds as provision for her future maintenance.

LORD ATKINSON

My Lords, the clause which I desire to insert in substitution for the present Clause 6 embodies an agreement arrived at by the parties as regards the payment of alimony. It was mentioned at the Second Reading and approved of by your Lordships who were then present.

Amendment moved—

Leave out Clause 6, and insert as a new clause: 6. The said Thomas Ernest Martin shall pay to the said Nita Martin, dum casta et sola, permanent alimony at such a rate as together with any sum payable by him as permanent alimony under any Order of the High Court of Justice in Ireland shall amount to three pounds per week."—(Lord Atkinson.)

Clause 8:

To bar Thomas Ernest Martin from marriage with Stella Patricia Hastings.

8. It shall not be lawful for the said Thomas Ernest Martin to intermarry with the said Stella Patricia Hastings.
