HL Deb 09 August 1917 vol 26 c262
THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (EARL CURZON OF KEDLESTON)

My Lords, yesterday the noble Marquess, Lord Salisbury, whom I do not see in his place, asked what arrangement I proposed to make for enabling your Lordships to take the Committee stage of the New Ministries Bill, the Second Reading of which you passed yesterday. I think the best arrangement would be for your Lordships to meet at 3.30, instead of 4.30, on Tuesday next, and to place the Committee stage of that Bill as the first Order on the Paper. I think we ought to be able to dispose of it within an hour, and we could then proceed to take the Committee stage of the Corn Production Bill, as already arranged, at the usual hour, 4.30. Subject to your Lordships' approval. I would propose to make that arrangement.
