HL Deb 24 May 1916 vol 22 c170
LORD RATHCREEDAN

My Lords, I beg to ask His Majesty's Government whether all the British troops within the zone of shell fire in France and Flanders are now supplied with the new regulation steel head-gear.

LORD SANDHURST

My Lords, I am glad to be able to tell my noble friend that the supply of steel helmets has very nearly reached the numbers asked for up to the present, and it is believed that sufficient have been issued for the needs of all the British troops within the zone of shell fire in France. The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief is responsible for their distribution.

House adjourned at five minutes before Seven o'clock, till To-morrow, half-past Ten o'clock.
