HL Deb 22 March 1916 vol 21 c448
THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, the Motion that stands in my name on the Paper is for the appointment of a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament to whom all Consolidation Bills in this present session may be referred. The Bill to which the House has just given a Second Reading is one that will go before this Committee, and I trust that your Lordships will think it right to appoint it.

Moved to resolve, That it is desirable that all Consolidation Bills in the present Session be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to; and a Message ordered to be sent to the Commons to communicate this Resolution, and to desire their concurrence.
