HL Deb 09 March 1916 vol 21 c368
VISCOUNT MIDLETON

Would the noble Marquess care to say anything with regard to the future meetings of the House?

THE MARQUESS OF LANSDOWNE

I have conferred with my noble friend Lord Crewe upon this subject, and, in deference to a suggestion made by my noble friend opposite, we propose that the House should meet as usual on three days next week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—that in the following week the House should meet on one day, which I presume will be Wednesday, and that this arrangement should be continued for alternate weeks. But, as my noble friend Lord Crewe said the other day, the matter of our sittings is not for the decision of us who sit upon this Bench, but for the consideration of your Lordships as a whole.

House adjourned at half-past Seven o'clock, to Monday next, a quarter before Eleven o'clock.
