HL Deb 20 July 1916 vol 22 c834

LORD MONTAGU OF BEAULIEU had the following Notice on the Paper—

To ask His Majesty's Government whether they are prepared to circulate the recent Report upon the Royal Aircraft Factory; what steps will be or have been taken to carry out its recommendations, and what alterations, if any, have been made in the higher staff at the factory.

The noble Lord said: My Lords, I have been in communication with the noble Earl who presides over the Air Board, and I learn from him that this particular Report upon the Royal Aircraft Factory is under the consideration of his Board, and that it would be convenient to the noble Earl and to the Board if we took the discussion at a later date. I do not wish to stand for more than a moment between the House and the important debate which is to follow, but I would remark that there are matters of great importance connected with this question, and that I am postponing the discussion for the reason I have given, and not because I could not make out to-day what would seem to be an overwhelming case.
