HL Deb 01 August 1916 vol 22 cc1000-1

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Sandhurst.)

On Question, Bill read 3a.

LORD SANDHURST

Your Lordships will remember that on the last stage of this Bill before the Third Reading one or two noble Lords suggested that its short title was hardly appropriate to a Bill which included provisions on various subjects. I have consulted the Secretary of State on the matter and also had an opportunity of seeing the Parliamentary draftsman, with the result that the Secretary of State is willing, after the word "Police," to insert "Factories." The short title will then be "Police, Factories, &c. (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill."

Amendment moved— In short title, after the word ("Police"), insert ("Factories").—(Lord Sandhurst.)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
