HL Deb 30 June 1915 vol 19 cc176-7

Brought from the Commons; read 1a; and to be printed.

LORD STRACHIE

May I ask on what day the noble Earl intends to take the Second Reading of this Bill?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES (THE EARL OF SELEORNE)

I should like to take the Second Reading to-morrow, if that is agreeable to the House.

LORD STRACHIE

It is rather short notice. There was a discussion on the matter at the County Councils Association after the noble Earl left this morning, and they thought the Bill so important that they referred it to their Parliamentary Committee, not thinking that the Second Reading would be taken this week.

THE EARL OF SELBORNE

If that is the case, I will certainly postpone it. Will next Tuesday do?

LORD STRAMIE

Wednesday would be better.

THE EARL OF SELBORNE

Then will put the Bill down for Wednesday.

Bill to be read 2a on Wednesday next (The Earl of Selborne). (No. 112.)
