THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (THE MARQUESS OF CREWE)

Your Lordships will no doubt like to hear the following telegram which has just been received from South Africa—

"The Governor-General of the Union of South Africa to the Secretary of State.—Your telegram of the 17th July. Ministers have received the Motion with deep gratification, and ask that the high appreciation felt by General Botha, General Smuts, and officers and forces of the Union at its terms may be expressed to the House of Lords."
