HL Deb 07 August 1914 vol 17 cc465-6

[SECOND READING.]

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE EARL OF GRANARD

My Lords, this is a simple Bill, which passed through the House of Commons without any oppose- tion. Its object is to transfer the appointment of examiners for masters' and mates' certificates from the local marine boards to the Board of Trade. As it has met with no opposition, I trust that your Lordships will allow it to pass through all its stages this afternoon.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2ª.— (The Earl of Granard.)

On Question, Bill read 2ª.

Committee negatived: Then (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended) Bill read 3ª, and passed.
