HL Deb 16 July 1913 vol 14 cc1077-8

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

EARL BEAUCHAMP

It was only last night when the House was very empty that an Amendment was made to this Bill, and if any of your Lordships feel that there has not been sufficient time to consider it since the Amendment was made I will not press the Third Reading on this occasion. Otherwise I would move it.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

What was the nature of the Amendment?

EARL BEAUCHAMP

It was put on the Table of the House. The noble Earl opposite knows about it.

THE EARL OF CAMPERDOWN

I may say that I looked at the Amendment and so far as I could see there was no objection to it.

EARL BEAUCHAMP

It was circulated, and as the noble Earl has no objection to it perhaps with the concurrence of the House I may move that the Bill be now read the third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Earl Beauchamp.)

On Question, Bill read 3aand passed, and returned to the Commons.
