HL Deb 12 August 1913 vol 14 c1838

House in Committee (according to Order).

The Amendments proposed by the Committee made.

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (EARL BEAUCHAMP)

My Lords, I should like to move that the Report of Amendments be now received, and in doing so I would ask your Lordships' permission to put this Bill through its remaining stages to-day. It has been unopposed in every stage in this House, but it was thought desirable to put in one Amendment to make certain that the existing pilotage committee of Trinity House should go on exercising its present powers up till December 10 next, by which time a new committee will be elected. To make this quite certain an Amendment had to be inserted. The Bill, therefore, has to go back to another place, and in these circumstances I venture to ask your Lordships to allow the Bill to go through its remaining stages to-day.

Then (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended): Amendments reported: Bill read 3a (with the Amendments), and passed, and returned to the Commons.
