HL Deb 21 March 1912 vol 11 c612
LORD HAVERSHAM

I beg to ask my noble friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture the Question that stands in my name—viz., when the Government propose to introduce a Bill to carry out Recommendations 2, 3, and 4 of the Departmental Committee upon the Sales of Estates, and in which House of Parliament they propose to introduce it. All these recommendations very much benefit the tenant, and my noble friend spoke with approval of them in the debate the other day. If the Government do intend to introduce legislation I should like to ask my noble friend to tell me whether it will be introduced by the President of the Board of Agriculture in another place or whether it will be in the hands of my noble friend in this House.

THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY TO THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (LORD LUCAS)

The answer to my noble friend's Question is that we propose to introduce a Bill at an early date in this House.
