§ LORD HENEAGEI rise to ask the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries whether he can now state whether the Chief Inspector of Fisheries, Mr. Fryer, will remain under the new Assistant Secretary of the Fisheries Department in his present capacity; or, if not, whether the President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries will give the National Sea Fisheries Protection Association an opportunity of conferring with him before the appointment is filled up, with a view of obtaining the services of some person with a thoroughly practical knowledge of the sea fisheries industry.
LORD LUCASMr. Fryer, who is sixty-two years of age, continues for the present to occupy the post of Superintending Inspector of Fisheries. No date has been fixed for the termination of his services. In the circumstances, the alternative Question of the noble Lord does not arise.
