VISCOUNT MIDLETON

I should like to ask the noble Marquess the Leader of the House whether he is in a position to tell us at what hour he proposes that the House should meet to-morrow and what business will be taken.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL AND SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (THE MARQUESS OF CREWE)

It is proposed that the House should meet at four o'clock to-morrow. My noble friend behind me is about to move that certain Bills which have come up from the House of Commons should be read a first time to-day, with the intention, they being of an uncontroversial character, that they should be taken through all their remaining stages to-morrow. It is also suggested that the Finance Bill should be taken through all its stages to-morrow, and that the Royal Commission should be held at six o'clock in the evening.
