[The EARL OF DONOUGHMORE in the Chair.]

Clauses 1 to 5 agreed to.

Clause 6:

6. It shall not be lawful for the said Henry Pendleton Maxwell to intermarry with the said Mrs. Allen.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (EARL LOREBURN)

My Lords, I move, in accordance with invariable custom, that Clause 6 be omitted. Some day or other, I suppose, we shall be able to dispense with the. form of always putting this clause in and always omitting it.

Amendment moved—

Leave out Clause 6.—(Earl Loreburn)

Preamble:

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

In the Preamble, which I understand will be printed and become a part of the Act, there is a mistake. It is on page 1, line 9. The name ought to be Alfred Hancock Middleton, and not George Allen Middleton. I move that the correction be made.

Amendment moved— Page 1, line 9, leave out ("George Allen ") and insert (" Alfred Hancock ").—(Earl Loreburn)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

The Report of Amendments to be received To-morrow.
