§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD LOREBURN)My Lords, I beg to introduce a Bill to consolidate and simplify the law relating to perjury and kindred offences. The Bill was before a Joint Committee in the last Parliament. I will explain it at greater length on Second Reading. The object is to continue the law as it is, but to consolidate and codify it.
